September 2020

The fall semester has begun! Students are back on campus and tackling the new school year. Safety precautions like masks, social distancing, and sanitizing stations have been implemented to keep campus and the surrounding community safe.

 

Though this semester may look a bit different, we’re excited to see students return to campus, eager to learn.

Joey Popp ’77 was named Big Brother of the Year for his dedication to Little Brother Andre, who he has been matched with for nearly three years. Popp has been working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina for years now and has contributed in many ways to the organization.

Derek George ‘88 helped create Giving Juice, an organic, non-GMO fruit juice in honor of his son John Paul. John Paul suffered from HypoPlastic Left Heart and put his full belief in the juice before his passing in 2017. In his honor, they are giving back to the John Paul George Heart of a Lion Foundation to help families with similar needs.
