Show your class (and Catawba) some LOVE this month and join the Class Giving Challenge! The Catawba Class Giving Challenge will run from February 1-May 31, 2019. Can your class top the charts in the most classmates participating (by %) and most money raised? To participate, make a gift to any area of the College that you are passionate about (MIND BODY SOUL campaign initiatives, scholarships, Catawba Fund, ANYTHING included). The classes that have the most participation and the most money raised will be celebrated at the Alumni Awards and Brunch during Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 25-27), 2019. Dr. Jonathan Slaughter '00, a Neonatologist and Research Principal Investigator at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University, was recently awarded a five-year, $3 million research grant from the National Institutes of Health to help neonatal caregivers better care for preterm infants through Early Prediction of Spontaneous Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) Closure and PDA-Associated Outcomes.

Dean's List for Fall 2018 Announced: A total of 326 students have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2018 semester at Catawba College, according to Dr. Constance Rogers-Lowery, Provost of the College. Students named to the Dean's List have achieved a 3.5 grade point average in 15 or more semester hours.

Catawba College Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies, Dr. Tyler W. Davis, and students, Michael Pierce and Kory Ly attended and presented at the world's largest gathering of earth and space scientists a — the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting — which was held in Washington, D.C. December 10-14. Both Michael and Kory submitted abstracts that were accepted for Pop-Up Talks — a special session for students and early career scientists to share how their research impacts society, what their vision is for the future of geophysics, or their experiences as a student.

at least 5 classmates from a reunion class to form a planning committee for those classes that wish to have individual reunion events during Homecoming. All reunion classes will be honored at a new, All Campus Party Saturday evening of Homecoming Weekend.
