Dr. Erin Wood received her B.S. in psychology magna cum laude, with a minor in biology, from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She later earned both her M.S. and Ph.D. in biopsychology also at VCU. Dr. Wood's research as a graduate student centered on behavioral pharmacology and behavioral genetics. Nowadays she enjoys teaching a range of psychology classes, including first-year seminar and honor courses, behavioral statistics, health psychology, behavior modification, sex/gender, death/dying, and neuroscience and cognition lab courses. Dr. Wood's research interests are focused on the nexus of human-technology interactions and health behavior modification as mediated by self-efficacy. She is also interested in the role of technology in education in post-secondary institutions. Dr. Wood enjoys working with students in conducting, analyzing, and presenting research. She previously served as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics and enjoys the challenge of learning the variety of different nuances in federal law therein. She also relishes working in what is left of her yard after her two puppies do their worst, being active with her family, gastro-adventures, and jogging, sometimes.
