Dr. Misty C. Marlowe received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her Masters of Arts in Clinical/Community Psychology from UNC-Charlotte, and her Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Capella University. Dr. Marlowe began practicing as a psychotherapist in 2004 and became a college instructor in 2012. Her passion for promoting psychology in the community is balanced by both treating mental health disorders at her private practice while also assisting students in developing a deep understanding of human thinking and behavior in the college classroom. Dr. Marlowe has been nominated multiple times for Excellence in Teaching awards and is currently conducting research on the use of specific instructional tools on increasing student engagement in the college classroom. On a personal note, Dr. Marlowe enjoys hiking with her family, eating adventurous cuisine, and spending time with her 6-month-old son.
