Brianna Kane, PhD, NCC is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Catawba College. Dr. Kane is a National Certified Counselor, and is in process of transitioning her Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) from Florida to Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. Dr. Kane has contributed to the academic community through scholarly work resulting in various research journal articles and a book chapter on disordered eating on college campuses. She has also presented at local, regional, and national conferences. Her research interests include emerging adult and college student wellness and success, mental wellness advocacy on college campuses, creativity in counseling and supervision, and animal-assisted therapy. Clinically, Dr. Kane has worked with college students, Veterans, and other community members. Dr. Kane earned her BS and PhD at the University of Florida and her MS at Jacksonville University. In her free time, Dr. Kane spends time with her family and pets, hiking, and crafting.
