Etters’ responsibilities at Catawba College include coordinating the Music Education degree program, overseeing instrumental music activities (including the Catawba College Wind Ensemble and Brass Ensemble), as well as teaching for both Teacher Education and General Education programs.
Aside from his duties at Catawba College, Etters is active as a clinician, adjudicator, and consultant for orchestras, marching bands, and concert bands throughout the Southeast. He regularly conducts and performs as trombonist with the Salisbury Swing Band, local semi-professional dance orchestra.
Etters’ professional memberships include Music Educators National Conference, National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, North Carolina Music Educators Association, South-Central District Band Directors Association, Rowan-Salisbury Band Directors Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi (life member).
